Santa Maria The course traces the contours of two valleys in which the natural vegetation, streams and four lakes form natural hazards. The greens are generally spacious and most of the tees are elevated. Amongstthe most spectacular holes are the 7th where the green es surrounded by bunkers, and the 11th with a lake and waterfall bordering the green.
Valderrama is a 6356 metres par 71 with no hole of less than championship quality but it can be fully enjoyed by players of all handicaps, thanks to the genius of Robert Trent Jones, Senior, whom many consider the leading golf architect of his day.
La Duquesa offers an interesting and varied game due to its long fairways and has two clearly different parts. The first 9 holes are of a certain "english style" with narrow fairways and high greens. Particularly beautiful is the hole 4 for its magnificent views, but it can also easily give you trouble for your score card. The second nine are easier with wide fairways, although the green will supply additional difficulties.
Guadalmina south:This is the oldest of the two eighteen hole Gualdalmina courses. It also offers a short nine hole round. The south course was designed by Javier Arena in 1959 and is famous for its high difficulty level and is therefore most suitable for experienced players. Wide fairways, without rough or water hazards. Guadalmina north:This course was designed by Folco Nardo and opened in 1.973. It is shorter and hillier than the south course and presents several artificial lakes. It requires a precise drive through the middle of the fairways so as not to end up in one of thes water hazard hidden the rough.
Rio Real Golf is situated in a very nice valley with sea views crossed by the Rio Real Creek that lent the course its name. Only 3 kms from Marbella, Javier Arana designed the course on the 60´s and its opened to the public in 1965.
Mijas Golf boasts two 18 holes courses. Los Lagos is a mainly flat course with wide fairwayis and fast, small greens, suitable for the more demanding players.
El Paraiso Situated at 14 km. from Marbella in a valley surrounded by hills with magnificient views of the coast. El Paraiso was carefully designed to achieve a peaceful atmosphere through the varied abundance of trees and vegetation, strategically placed lakes and bunkers. Competitions are held weekly.
The 18 holes of Golf Torrequebrada are situated between the mediterranean sea and the mountains. It is rich in tropical vegatation and birds. The large number of lakes and strategic placed bunkers, every hole is a different experience for the player.
Baviera Golf Situated in the Axarquía, exactly at Caleta de Vélez, comands magnificent sea and mountain views. It has direct acces from the Mediterranean Highway and it is 200 metres far away from the Yachting Club of Caleta. The golf course has being design under the directions of José María Cañizares, and can play all kinds of golf players, form beginners and experts to even professionals.
Motril Golf: The friendly Golf Course, open to all, on the edge of the beach. Picturesque set on the beach with a back drop of the snow covered Sierra Nevadas, Delightful Restaurant and bar.
